  I followed all the steps but the apps did not add to my kids' phones. When I press check for updates it just immediately says "updates installed" but there are no new apps. I am on wifi, I enabled the apps I wanted added, had them sign into their gabb ID app and press check for updates. On my older daughter's gabb plus phone selecting "check for updates" now causes the app to freeze.

  We have the Gabb phone (not "plus") and tried to add the weather and olive tree Bible apps you offer. We thought we followed the instructions, but nothing happened. There was a brief "error" message on the screen, but it didn't stay up long enough for us to say what it was. No apps are added as of this morning. Can you help? The other issue we have is that our daughter keeps getting calls and texts from numbers not in her contacts list. How is this possible? Perhaps her number was recently dropped from someone else and recycled too quickly to a new user (her), and that person before her had them as contacts? Can you fix this? Thanks

  My granddaughter just got her Gabb phone plus. She loves it so far but wishes there were some games. I understand why you don’t offer them due to miss use and so many inappropriate games out there. However there are a lot of educational and learning games that would satisfy most kids and would learn something at the same time. Just a suggestion. Thank you for your consideration.

  We followed the steps above, but we didn't have a GabbID for our child. AFTER I set up the GabbID on my child's phone, I THEN had to click the down arrow and SELECT the correct box in order for the apps to be put on their phone (steps 2 & 3 above). Then I could ask the phone to look for the updates. (step 4) Could you please add the steps to the directions above?? Thanks!

  I am really glad that you added these apps. My son had been asking for a music app where he could put his favorite songs, and to be able to check out Library books/audio, and for a Bible app. So, these are great additions for us!

  Hi Emily! Yes, the Gospel Library app is now available on the Gabb Phone and the Gabb Phone Plus. Only you as the parent can add the app to the phones so if you do not want your child to have access to it, you do not need to download it.

  Sora doesn’t work at all. We’ve all followed the troubleshooting link but it doesn’t address the issue. No one can sign in because of how Sora does it vs what is allowed on this phone. Did no one check this before adding it as one of your very few available apps? I’m worried we made a mistake going w Gabb and not the other companies that have all the Knox apps figured out.

  Hi Gabb! I have a gabb phone Z2 and I would LOVE to have these apps as a bonus because I would have to pay for a Gabb Plus. I don't want any games by the way: -canvas app: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, my school doesn't have sora... I need an app to see my grades and assignments. If this would be a gabb plus thing this would be terrible for some kids who can't afford a 100$ more phone. -Notes: I know you have it on Gabb plus. I need it if I can't get a canvas app for school. -Google Classroom: I need this a lot in school, at home, on the go, whatever its the same as Canvas. Most of my teachers use this app. I need this app. -Calm/any sleep app: I sleep terribly, and I can't use any other electronics in my room. Could you add any app that could play rain sounds, stories, white noise, ect... All of these apps I need on a Gabb Z2 phone. I am not asking for games.   PLEASE add canvas for my schoolwork, galaxy wearable app for my earbuds, spotify, and some games to the gabb phone to help with things. I know your plan is to avoid getting games, but i beg to differ about this. first, games and spotify are things that the parents can add, and if they dont want them, they dont need to add them for their child. and, i am sure you guys can create something that will limit how much time you can be on for each app (ie, if you add games it could be limited to 2 hours for apps in the "games" category) but if that isnt possible the things that i would really appreciate and should really be added are these 1. canvas 2. galaxy wearable app 3. spotify also another thing that would be appreciated is to have a specific place on the site to see what 3rd party apps are currently available, so i can see what new things i can get. i hope you can take this into consideration and have a good day :)

  My daughter looked at the phone capabilities and liked everything except it didn't seem to have an email client for accessing her Gmail account. Some parents may not want their kids to have email but it is an app I'd permit to be on her phone and it would be a nice option. Is that going to be a available at some point? Not all kids use texting exclusively to communicate, and I have plenty of options to review her email without needing an administrative app for it. Thank you.

  Why are the only additional apps religion based?! If this is a kids safety subject there are plenty of educational apps that are safe and don’t single out kids based on their religious beliefs or lack thereof.

  I overall like the concept of the Gabb phone plus, but I have run into some frustrations. I was told that the gabb phone plus has all of the features of the old phone plus new features. This is not accurate. The gabb phone plus does not have radio or voice recorder (there may be other apps that I haven’t noticed are missing). This is frustrating because the kids can’t listen to music unless we pay more for the gabb music app. The gabb phone plus also has a middle finger emoji. Why????? I also was led to believe that there would be some preloaded games on the gabb phone plus. This is also not accurate. I don’t see that games are in development either (according to the website).

  I would like a canvas app for school, or google classroom. I'd also like it to be able to text ipads, and emails. Plus, facetime would be awesome. Like other people have said; I'd like a app that I can use to calm down (white noise) and a app that tracks running and stuff.   Hi Bridgette! We apologize for this, there was a bug that accidentally added the apps to some Gabb Phones. This has since been fixed and all apps will require the parent to add them in order to show up on the phone.   Hi Jennifer, we apologize that there was a misunderstanding about what we offer on the Gabb Phone Plus. One of the biggest differences between the two phones is the upgrade in hardware on the phone. You are correct in that Gabb Music has replaced the radio on the phones. It is a safe, curated library of songs that we feel comfortable offering kids. Each Samsung device comes with preloaded emojis and unfortunately they cannot be altered to remove or add any emojis that are unwanted. There are no games right now on the Gabb Phone Plus but there will be educational games in the future. Please reach out to customer service via chat on our website if you have any further questions.

In order to make sure an app is safe, it goes through vigours testing because we will never release something that kids could potentially access inappropriate content. I'm not sure if Sora can load an epub, but that is only for Gabb Plus, would be nice if I could put some ebooks on my sons phone for him to read.   Future idea: With such a wide variety of app requests, how about adding the function to upload an app (.apk) to the parent dashboard, the Gabb phone downloads it via Gabb ID and the phone blocks what it needs to (e.g. the use of online data without wi-fi, following external links, etc.). This way, the parents can put on the apps that their kids specifically need.

  On the Gabb phones, do you have the ability to limit apps to only a certain timeframe? I saw that you added a chess app. I don't know this particular app, but my son is addicted to chess.com. He has a school issued laptop and all of the middle school kids have figured out a way to get around the blocks and use YouTube, FortNite, Roblox and chess. The teachers and admin have access to GoGuardian, but unfortunately the parents do not. It has become a real struggle because the kids have to do their homework on their computer, but are so tempted to play these games. I don't mind my son playing chess, it's a great strategy game. However I don't want him playing when he should be doing schoolwork. Long story short, it would be great if there was the ability to limit when the app could be used. Thanks for considering!

  I am a middle school student and I have the regular gabb phone I love and use the new third party apps extremely often. I know there are lots more coming out for the gabb phone plus but I was wondering if people who work at gabb would take into consideration a game that people who own either a gabb phone or a gabb phone plus would be able to access. This would be nice to have just as an activity to do on your phone it could even be a logic and educational game that helps you continually use your brain.   Just some safe 3rd party app suggestions I have for Gabb to consider: a video calling app, a Music app or something like a beat sequencer kind of like the app garageband, some sort of banking app where we can see our bank accounts and our income and spendings, an app where we can draw and i know there is already something like this on notes but it's quite tricky to access, how about some sort of movie maker app or a stop-motion video maker app, maybe the google calendar app so i can connect to my family calendar to see what is going on all the time, a translator app like google translate, maybe something like an app that keeps all of your passwords safe in one place, an active tracker or workout app or even just a habit tracker, a white noise app of some sorts, and a FM or AM radio app for the gabb phone plus.   Apps that would be very helpful for my teens for school: Canvas - check grades and homework, message teachers 5 Star - the school uses it for incentives Google classroom/google docs We have been struggling to decide what phone to get for our soon to be middle schooler. Having access to these apps would make Gabb a viable option for us. I don’t want to give him a traditional smartphone, but he needs to be able to access Canvas at least. PowerSchool (keeping track of grades) Canvas (for school) Family Search (for religious purposes) Google Docs (for writing) Gmail (to keep in contact with friends and teachers) Marco Polo (to keep in contact with family) GreenLight Card App (to keep track of spending) GroupMe (for FSY and extracurricular activities) Fitness Apps Feminine Tracking App And these can all be under the optional apps.   Hello. I have a child that is a Gabb user, and I have some suggestions. My child is in the high school's women's choir, and the only way they communicate is through GroupMe, which Gabb doesn't have. She is not able to get updates or texts, so she has to ask her other team members to figure out what is going on. Adding GroupMe would be very helpful to a lot of kids. My child also has the GreenLight Card App, and she has a difficult time keeping track of her spending. This is because she doesn't have the app on her phone. It would be very convenient for a lot of people to add the GreenLight Card App as well as other Debit Card Apps. Lastly, PowerSchool would be very helpful for many others as well as my child. It allows you to keep track of grades and is used in school all the time.

  I am disappointed that FitBit is offered as a 3rd Party App with the upgrade to the Gabb Phone 3 Pro but you can't login without a Google Account. It's restricted. I bought fitbit watches for my kids and they can't even track it on their phones. The google login for FitBit was released in June and Gabb released these new apps in November. I hope this issue gets resolved.. along with any other apps that require a Google Login, otherwise they are useless apps.

  Hi, question about gabb music plus. why is there barely any songs for popular artists? For example, AJR is shown as having only 3 songs on gabb music plus, when they have released over 5 albums! It's really frustrating and it makes me not want to use gabb music at all. Thanks, Jake

  Hi Jake, this is a great question! We are constantly trying to add new music to Gabb Music, but only songs that are appropriate for kids. While we understand many artists have more than what we offer, we only add music that parents can feel good about their children listening too.

  Love this phone, however, Google login, as well as other external browser based logins, are an absolute necessity for a majority of these apps. It's an excellent idea, having the restrictions, but the phone not having this ability to sign into apps makes it frustrating and makes the apps useless. There are safe browsers like Purity browser and Spin that would make the phone more useful. Keep up the good work!

I 😍 Gabb but I think That Your Phones could be Better if I could choose any app for my kids because other People say ''add this'' or ''add that'' so could you add every app but the catch is the adult must add the app, not the kid because some adults trust their kid on apps other adults find unsafe like youtube I trust my kids on youtube but other parents cannot trust thier kid and I think my kids will watch educational stuff other kids I ain't sure about. And this includes google but parents can block websites Because my kids love multiplcation.com, Coolmathgames, Hooda math, Math playground, and we also like neal.fun. The company Bark and Teracube do this I think Gabb sould to and all my kiddos agree we like Gabb but they should be more like Teracube or bark. Thank you. Go Gabb! 📵

  I’ll be honest. When I scrolled through the list of available apps the first time I wondered why I’m paying extra for a whole lot of adult stuff. Banking apps? Cruise and Disney travel apps? Restaurants? These phones are marketed to youth and the majority of kids I know don’t have their own travel plans, bank accounts, or money to order out meals….. That said, can we get a coloring app or two? A word search? I’m very close to downgrading our plan because this doesn’t offer a whole lot (Some parents are okay with gaming on phones because we set limits and our kids respect them. We go with gabb because we don’t want Internet or social media…. That doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t want any fun and games!) 😩

  Hey gabb! my daughter is 15 and working, her work requires her to have slack as one of their communication tools, I understand that slack may go outside of the safety of Gabb, but i would love if your team would work on it and consider it as a third party app on gabb. thank you very much! I would also like to add spotify as one of the options for music, although spotify has lot of explicit content, parents are able to fix that in the settings.

When I try to access games like Pokémon Go or Retro Bowl, I receive a message saying, "Oops! Your App Request Doesn’t meet Gabb’s standards and criteria." I’m puzzled by this since those games don't have browsers or inappropriate content. I want my son to enjoy some fun activities on his phone rather than just using it as a school device. Additionally, I'm facing issues logging into some apps. When I try to sign in or sign up, it redirects me to a website that isn’t accessible, as it gets blocked by the Knox browser. I’ve spent over three hours trying to reach support, but I haven’t found a solution yet. I believe adding more engaging apps would really enhance the experience for kids. It’s important for them to enjoy their devices, and as parents, we can set appropriate limits and boundaries. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Unfortunately, the Gabb Phone Plus doesn't have the ability to have apps like Canvas or ESPN; you would need to upgrade to our Gabb Phone 4 Pro. This device has the Google Play Store installed and with the Advanced plan, you will be able to have your parents approve apps for installation.

Unfortunately, because YouTube, Google Messages, and Spotify do not meet our security standards, we are not able to add them as available options. We can absolutely request that more games be added. With the Gabb Messenger app, you should be able to video call, and depending on the device, we do have a voice recording feature, but this would be awesome on all our devices and we can submit that request for you. Regarding adding certain artists, we can reach out to our development team to see if they could expand the selections to include the artists you mentioned. Please keep in mind that we screen all songs and artists and we are very strict about the content we approve. If lyrics and content are explicit, we cannot add certain songs. If there are games you would like to request, you can do this by going to https://gabb.com/app-guide/. This page will also allow you to see all our available apps.
