Connect to WiFi and place device on a charger
Always keep your device connected to WiFi on your home network and on a charger at night.
Doing this will ensure your watch automatically receives new updates.
To connect to WiFi:
- Swipe to the Settings menu.
- Tap the WiFi icon.
- Toggle WiFi on.
Not connecting your watch to your home’s WiFi can result in delays in receiving the latest system, app, and security updates.
Benefits of keeping your watch up to date
Keeping your watch connected to WiFi and up to date is important for a number of reasons:
- Receive important system and app updates
- Improve Safe Zone entrance & exit notifications
- Ensure key performance like battery life, GPS location, and more
Manually update your watch
To manually update your watch:
- Connect to WiFi.
- Place the watch on its charger. Your watch must be charged to at least 30%
- Perform a System Update.
- Open the Check for Updates app and tap the Update button. The watch will automatically restart when finished.

- Perform an App Update.
- Open the ID app on your watch and tap Update Apps. Your watch will restart when finished.
