How GPS Location Works

Gabb devices use cell towers, GPS, & WiFi to track their location. The phone or watch receives signals from nearby cell towers, satellites, & WiFi routers, then uses this information to determine the location of your device.

Turn on location monitoring

Here’s how you can turn on location monitoring for your Gabb phone or Gabb watch:

  1. Log in to the MyGabb app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap on the Devices tab, then tap Profile next to your device.
  3. Tap the pencil icon next to the Location Monitoring section.
  4. Enable Location monitoring, then tap Update Settings.

Manually refresh GPS location

GPS location automatically updates every 15 minutes, but you can update the location manually at any time. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to the MyGabb app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the profile icon of your device on the map.
  3. Click Locate at the bottom of the screen. The location of your Gabb device will update.

Set up a Safe Zone

You can use the MyGabb app to set up a Safe Zone for your child. When they enter or leave a Safe Zone, we’ll send you a notification on your smartphone.

When your child enters or leaves a Safe Zone, you’ll get updated every 15 minutes. You can also click the Locate button in the MyGabb app if you want a real-time location update.

You can set up a Safe Zone in a few easy steps:

  1. Log in to the MyGabb app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the Devices tab, then tap Profile next to your child’s device.
  3. Tap Manage in the Safe Zones section.
  4. Tap New Safe Zone.
  5. Enter the Safe Zone details, then tap Save.
