I’m having issues with my Gabb Watch 3 – how can I resolve?
What issues does this page address?
GPS 📍
If you are experiencing delayed GPS and Safe Zone locating, or other related issues, try these common fixes:
Make sure your Gabb Watch 3 is updated through the Gabb ID app and Watch Updates app. Note: These are two different ways to update the watch.
Gabb ID App Update:
- Connect to Wi-Fi (swipe to Settings on the watch to find this app!)
- Open the Gabb ID app (shown below)
Tap the Update Apps button until the screen says Apps are up to date!”. You may need to tap the button multiple times
- Turn watch completely off and back on. Hold the power button down for 4 seconds and tap the “power off” on the screen. After it has powered off, wait 15 seconds and power back on
Watch Update (Firmware):
- Connect to Wi-Fi (swipe to Settings on the watch to find this app!)
- Place watch on charger. Watch must be charged to at least 30% before updating
- Open the Check for Updates app (shown below)
- Tap update button
- The watch will automatically restart when the update is done
📲 Pairing
If you are have trouble connecting your Gabb Watch 3 to the MyGabb Parent App, try these common fixes:
Make sure your Gabb Watch 3 is active with a cellular plan, and you are in an area with a strong cell signal.
Activating a Gabb Watch 3:
If you ordered the device at Amazon, ensure you have activated the device through gabb.com/activate
Completing an Upgrade or Replacement:
If your new Gabb Watch 3 is an upgrade or replacement for an existing device/line, take these steps:
1 Unpair your old device in the MyGabb App by going to MyGabb App>Devices>Profile. Scroll to the bottom and select Remove Device
2 Transfer the phone number from the old device to the new Gabb Watch 3. Log in to your Gabb Account at gabb.com/account, select the old device, and select SIM Swap. Completing a SIM Swap transfers the phone number from your old device to the new device.

Move to Spot with better cell service and restart the device:
Take your Gabb Watch 3 and smartphone outside to a place where you’ll have stronger cellular bars, restart the watch, and attempt to pair.
Bluetooth Timeout During Pairing Process
While pairing your Gabb Watch 3, if you get to this screen:
And your watch shows this screen:
This means Bluetooth has timed out. You’ll need to:
- Restart the watch. Turn it off and back on.
- Hard close the parent MyGabb App.
- Begin the pairing process again.

1 Press the power button once (bottom right button on the watch) to select Try again

If the Android Recovery Screen comes up again after selecting
Try again:
A) On the MyGabb App: Unpair the watch as follows:

Select the Devices tab

Select Profile on the watch you need to unpair

Scroll to the bottom of the profile and select Remove Device and remove and reset
B) On the Watch: Factory Reset the watch:

Press the back button once (top right button on the watch) to move the cursor over Factory data reset

Press the power button once (bottom right button on the watch) to select Factory data reset
C) Repair the watch as shown

📞 Unsuccessful Calling
If your Gabb Watch 3 is paired but not making phone calls successfully, try these steps:

Ensure that the contact that is trying to communicate with the Gabb Watch 3 is added as an approved contact for the Gabb device in the MyGabb App

On the MyGabb app on the parent’s smartphone, double check the phone number is correct for the whitelisted contact

See if the contact is showing up on the watch

Click “Play Sound” on the MyGabb app to ensure the MyGabb app and watch are still communicating

Hold down the power button for 4 seconds, then select the power off icon on the watch screen, wait 15 seconds, then hold the power button for another 4 seconds to turn the watch back on.
🎛️ ️MyGabb Device Controls
If you are having trouble connecting your Gabb Watch 3 to the MyGabb Parent App, try these common fixes:
Make sure your MyGabb App is on the newest version and updated by checking your smartphone’s App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)

For any other issues, try these steps:
