Setting Parental Controls in the MyGabb app
Gabb’s parent app, MyGabb, allows parents to set controls for Gabb devices & monitor your child’s location. This article will guide you through setting up & using the MyGabb app for parents.
Pairing your Device to the MyGabb App
- Download the MyGabb app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Enter the email address & password that you set up when you purchased your Gabb device, then tap Sign In.
Follow these steps to set up your Gabb device while logged into the MyGabb app:
Gabb Phones:
- Log in to the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone.
- Tap the Devices tab.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page, then select Add Device.
- Tap on the device you’re setting up.
- Enter your child’s profile information.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen, then tap Scan QR Code.
- Use the camera in the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone to scan the QR code that is displayed on the Gabb phone.
- Follow the prompts in the parent MyGabb app to finish pairing your Gabb phone to the MyGabb app.
Gabb Watches:
Gabb phones & watches must be active before attempting to link them with the MyGabb app. To activate a device, visit our activation portal.

MyGabb App Settings
Enable notifications:
Enable notifications for MyGabb in your device settings.
Check your notifications:
- Log in to the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone.
- Tap the bell icon in the upper-right corner.
There will be a red dot on the bell icon when you have a new notification.
Delete your notifications:
- Log in to the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone.
- Tap the bell icon.
- Tap the trash can icon, then select Yes.
Manage your notifications:
Adjust the notification settings for the MyGabb app in your device settings.
- Log in to the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone.
- Tap the Devices tab.
- Tap Profile next to your child’s Gabb device.
- Tap the pencil icon in the upper-right corner.
- Update your child’s profile information, then select Save Changes.
Want to be notified when your child enters or leaves an area? Set up Safe Zones to deliver these notifications to your MyGabb app.
When your child enters or leaves a Safe Zone, you’ll get updated anytime between one second and 15 minutes, based on how long ago you received the last location update. You can also click the Locate button in your MyGabb app if you want a real-time location update.
Here’s how to set up a Safe Zone:
- Log in to the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone.
- Tap the Devices tab.
- Tap Profile next to your child’s device.
- Tap Manage in the Safe Zones section.
- Tap New Safe Zone.
- Enter the Safe Zone details, then tap Save.
GPS Location Monitoring
Parents can view a child’s location at any time in the MyGabb app. GPS automatically refreshes the location every 15 minutes. You can also manually update the Gabb device’s location in the MyGabb app.
- Log in to the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone.
- Tap the Devices tab.
- Tap Profile next to your child’s device.
- Tap the pencil icon in the Location Monitoring section.
- Enable Location Monitoring, then tap Update Settings.
- Log in to the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone.
- Tap the Devices tab.
- Tap Profile next to your child’s device.
- Tap the radio button next to the selection you want in the Monitoring Schedule section, then tap Update Settings.
If you’d like to set up a custom monitoring schedule, select the Custom radio button and set your From & To options.
- Log in to the MyGabb app on your (parent’s) smartphone.
- Tap the Devices tab.
- Tap Profile next to your child’s device.
- Tap Locate. This will update your child’s location on the map.
Your device’s location may not update automatically if the device isn’t connected to a strong cellular signal.
Try these tips if your GPS location fails:
- Update your MyGabb app to the most recent version.
- Enable notifications for MyGabb on your smartphone.
- Turn your Gabb device off, then back on.
- Charge your device.
- Make sure your Gabb device has a strong cell signal. If the cell signal is below two bars then the location may not update regularly.
