MyGabb App User Guide

The MyGabb app allows you to set parental controls for Gabb Watches (approved contacts, create Safe Zones etc), and monitor your child’s location for all Gabb devices. This article will guide you through setting up & using the MyGabb app.

Setting up the MyGabb App

Sign into MyGabb
  1. Download the MyGabb app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Enter the email address & password that you set up when you purchased your device, then select Sign In.
Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Gabb device while logged into the MyGabb app:

Gabb Phones:
  1. Select the Devices tab.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, then select Add Device.
  3. Select the device you’re setting up.
  4. Enter your child’s profile information.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, then select Scan QR Code.
  6. Scan the QR code that is displayed inside the MyGabb app on the Gabb Phone.
  7. Follow the prompts to finish setting up your Gabb Phone to the MyGabb app.
Gabb Watches:

Gabb devices must be active before attempting to link them with the MyGabb app. To activate a device, visit gabb.com/activate

The MyGabb App allows parents to GPS track their child’s device for Gabb Phones. In addition to this, for Gabb Watches, the MyGabb App allows parents to manage approved contacts, Safe Zones, preset text messages, SOS contact, and more. See the following article for more information

MyGabb App Settings

Notifications
Enable notifications:

Enable notifications for MyGabb in your device settings.

Check your notifications:
  1. Log in to the MyGabb app
  2. Select the bell icon

There will be a red dot on the bell icon when you have a new notification. 

Delete your notifications:

  1. Log in to the MyGabb app
  2. Select the bell icon
  3. Select the trash can icon, then select Yes
Manage your notifications:

Adjust the notification settings for the MyGabb app in your device settings.

Edit your child’s profile information
  1. Log in to the MyGabb app.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s device.
  4. Select the pencil icon in the upper-right corner. 
  5. Update your child’s profile information, then select Save Changes.
Manage Safe Zones

Want to be notified when your child enters or leaves an area? Set up Safe Zones to deliver these notifications to your MyGabb app. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to the MyGabb app.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s device.
  4. Select Manage in the Safe Zones section.
  5. Select New Safe Zone.
  6. Enter the Safe Zone details, then select Save.

GPS Location Monitoring

You can view your child’s location at any time in the MyGabb app. GPS automatically refreshes the location every 15 minutes, but you can change the frequency to every 10, 30, or 60 minutes. You can also manually update the device’s location in the MyGabb app.

Enable location monitoring
  1. Log in to the MyGabb app.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s device.
  4. Select the pencil icon in the Location Monitoring section.
  5. Enable Location Monitoring, then select Update Settings.
Set monitoring schedule
  1. Log in to the MyGabb app.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s device.
  4. Select the radio button next to the selection you want in the Monitoring Schedule section, then select Update Settings.

If you’d like to set up a custom monitoring schedule, select the Custom radio button and set your From & To options.

Update location refresh frequency
  1. Log in to the MyGabb app.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s device.
  4. Select the pencil icon in the Location Monitoring section.
  5. Select the Location Refresh Frequency, then select Update Settings.
Manually update location
  1. Log in to the MyGabb app.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s device.
  4. Select Locate. This will update your child’s location on the map.
Get directions to device
  1. Log in to the MyGabb app.
  2. Select the Map tab.
  3. Select your child’s profile icon, then select the popup with the last update time.
  4. Select Get Directions. This will open your default map app on your smartphone with turn-by-turn directions to the device.
Reasons GPS location may fail

Your device’s location may not update automatically if the device isn’t connected to a strong cellular signal. 

Try these tips if your GPS location fails:

  1. Update your MyGabb app to the most recent version. 
  2. Enable notifications for MyGabb on your smartphone. 
  3. Turn the Gabb device off, then back on.
  4. Charge the Gabb device.
  5. Make sure your Gabb device has a strong cell signal. If the cell signal is below two bars then the location may not update regularly.
