Learn how to set up and manage a Gabb ID, your child’s secure account for Gabb devices. Gabb ID enables services like data backup and speech-to-text, is free with all plans, and includes troubleshooting tips for login, verification, and password issues.

A Gabb ID is a secure account login specific to your child created for your child when you set up your Gabb device. This unique username and password are used to provide additional services for your child, such as data backup and speech-to-text.

Your child's Gabb ID is essential to having their Gabb Phone or Gabb Watch work smoothly. Gabb ID ensures easy backup of your Gabb device.

Gabb ID is not the same thing as your Gabb account credentials. The Gabb ID is a login for your child that you use to link the Gabb device to your account. Your Gabb account credentials are for parents only and are used to log in to the Gabb website.

How do I set up a new Gabb ID? ⚙️

Follow these steps to set up your child’s Gabb ID on your Gabb Phone:

  1. Connect your Gabb Phone to WiFi. 🛜

  2. Open the Gabb ID app on the Gabb Phone.

  3. Tap I’m a Kid.

  4. Tap Create a Gabb ID.

  5. Follow the prompts to create your Gabb ID. You'll receive an email verification with instructions to complete setting up the Gabb ID. You must verify the Gabb ID account before it is active.

  6. Sign in to the Gabb ID app on your Gabb Phone.

How do I transfer an existing Gabb ID to my new Gabb device?

Follow these steps to transfer an existing Gabb ID to a new Gabb device:

  1. Go to our activation portal.

  2. Follow the prompts to activate your new Gabb device.

  3. Set up a new Gabb ID and password when prompted.

What if I forgot the password to my child's Gabb ID?

If you forgot your child's Gabb ID password, don't worry! You can easily reset the password online by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your Gabb account.

  2. Tap on the device you need to update the Gabb ID password for.

  3. Tap Edit Info in the upper-right corner.

  4. Enter the new password in the Password field, then tap Save Changes.

Gabb ID & Gabb Watches

Gabb Watches require that your child be logged in to their Gabb ID on the watch in order for it to function properly. This allows your child to have full access to all of the apps and settings on the watch.

Your child must be logged in to their Gabb ID on the watch before they can use it.

You’ll create your child’s Gabb ID during the setup process. Logging in to Gabb ID on the Gabb Watch ensures that the watch functions smoothly and has full access to apps and features.

You must be logged in to Gabb ID to use the following features:

  • Speech-to-Text

  • Location

  • App updates

  • Gabb Go:

    • Coins

    • Pets

    • Actions

    • Tasks

    • Step tracker

  • Preset text changes

When logged in to Gabb ID on the Gabb Watch, the following information will be backed up:

  • Contacts

  • Gabb Go:

    • Coins

    • Pets

    • Actions

    • Tasks

    • Step tracker

  • Preset texts

  • Focus Modes

  • Volume control

  • Profile settings on the MyGabb app

Logging in to Gabb ID on the Gabb Watch

The watch should automatically log in to Gabb ID the first time you complete setup with the MyGabb app. If you get logged out, here’s how to log back in to Gabb ID on the Gabb Watch 3e:

  1. Swipe to the Apps screen.

  2. Scroll down, then tap Settings. ⚙️

  3. Tap About Device, then look at the Gabb ID section.

    1. If the watch is not logged in to Gabb ID, you’ll see an arrow icon ➡️next to Gabb ID.

      1. Tap the arrow icon. ➡️

      2. Log in to your child’s Gabb ID using their username and password (not the parent's login information).

    2. If the watch is logged in to Gabb ID, you’ll see your child’s Gabb ID listed in this field, and no further action is required.

If you're having trouble logging in to your child's Gabb ID on their Gabb Watch, check for a system update by going to Settings > System Update.

Gabb ID troubleshooting 🚨

Many Gabb ID issues can be fixed by following these steps:

  1. Sign out of the Gabb ID app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Turn the WiFi on your Gabb device off, then back on. 🛜

  3. Log in to the original Gabb ID credentials on your Gabb device using the Gabb ID assigned to that device in your Gabb account.

    1. To check which Gabb ID is assigned, log in to your Gabb account, then tap View Details. Your child’s Gabb ID is listed immediately to the right of their name, next to the Gabb ID icon. Gabb ID icon

  4. Reset the password for your Gabb ID, then use the new password to log back in to the Gabb ID app on your Gabb Phone:

    1. Log in to your Gabb account.

    2. Tap View Details next to your Gabb device.

    3. Tap Change Password, enter the new password, then tap Save. ✅

  5. Confirm that Gabb ID is on the most recent version:

    1. Connect the Gabb Phone to WiFi. 🛜

    2. Open the Google Play Store on the Gabb Phone.

    3. Update the Gabb ID app (if applicable).

  6. Confirm that the Gabb ID is not signed in on any other devices.

  7. Turn your Gabb device off, then back on.

Device linked to the wrong Gabb ID

If your Gabb device is linked to the wrong Gabb ID, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect your Gabb device from the MyGabb app.

  2. Sign in to your Gabb account online.

  3. Unassign the device from the incorrect Gabb ID:

    1. Tap Dashboard.

    2. Tap View Details next to the device you want to change the Gabb ID for.

    3. Tap Unassign Device in the Device Information section.

    4. Tap Confirm and Unassign.

  4. Reassign the correct Gabb ID to your Gabb device:

    1. Tap View Details next to the device.

    2. Tap Assign Device.

    3. Select which device you want to add under this Gabb ID.

    4. Tap Confirm.

  5. Restart your device: Turn off your device, wait 30 seconds, then turn your device back on.

  6. Log in to the correct Gabb ID on your Gabb device.

"Unable to resolve host" error

If you get an error that says "unable to resolve host" try these steps:

  1. Sign out of Gabb ID on your Gabb device.

  2. Turn your Gabb device off, then back on.

  3. Connect your Gabb device to WiFi. 🛜

  4. Sign in to Gabb ID on your Gabb device.

Not signed in to Gabb ID on the Gabb Watch

If the Gabb ID field on the watch says "Not signed in" try these steps:

  1. Ensure you have the correct login credentials for your child and try signing in again.

    1. Note: Do not log in with the parent's login information.

  2. Restart your watch:

    1. Press and hold the power button (bottom button) for four seconds to turn the watch off.

    2. Press and hold the power button for four seconds to turn the watch back on.

How much does Gabb ID cost?

Gabb ID is free - it's included in all Gabb service plans and does not have an additional cost.

I didn't get an email verification after the Gabb ID was created

If you didn't get the email verification after creating a Gabb ID, check the email address associated with your Gabb account.

➡️ If you don’t see the email after 15 minutes, check additional folders such as Spam or Promotions.

Forgot username or password for Gabb ID

Username:

Log in to your Gabb account to view the username.

Password:

  1. Log in to your Gabb account.

  2. Tap on the device you need to update the Gabb ID password for.

  3. Tap Edit Info in the upper-right corner.

  4. Enter the new password in the Password field, then tap Save Changes.

Resolving password mismatch errors

If you receive an error saying the username is unavailable after password changes, ensure you’re trying to log in to the child’s existing Gabb ID rather than mistakenly creating a new one.

Can I manage Gabb ID from the MyGabb app?

No, currently you can't manage Gabb ID from the MyGabb app. You must log in to your Gabb account online to manage Gabb ID for your Gabb devices.

Do I have to log in to Gabb ID on the Gabb device, or just on the website?

You'll have to log in to Gabb ID on the Gabb device, and assign the same Gabb ID to that device from your Gabb account online.

Can I reuse my child's Gabb ID?

If you purchased a new Gabb Phone or Gabb Watch for your child and they already have a Gabb ID, then yes, you can reuse their Gabb ID. Simply log in to Gabb ID on their new phone or watch.

When do I need to create a new Gabb ID?

You'll need to create a new Gabb ID when setting your child up with their first Gabb device. If they've already been using a Gabb device, simply log in to their Gabb ID on the new phone or watch using their existing Gabb ID credentials.

Can my child be logged in to Gabb ID on more than one device?

No, a Gabb ID can only be logged in on one device at a time. If you're switching from one Gabb device to another, log out of Gabb ID on the old device before logging in on the new device.

Is my child's data backed up on the SIM card?

No, data is not backed up on your child's SIM card. Data is stored and managed with Gabb ID and Gabb Cloud. When switching from one Gabb device to another, make sure you log in to your child's Gabb ID on the new Gabb device. Their data will be automatically restored.

It may take up to 48 hours for Gabb ID and Gabb Cloud to fully sync with the new device.
