Using the MyGabb App to Set Up Parental Controls on your Gabb Watch 3

Add approved & guardian contacts

You can add up to 100 pre-approved contacts to the Contact List on your child’s Gabb Watch 3. You can also set up to nine guardian contacts, who can download the MyGabb app & create an account to view your child’s location.

Guardians can only view the Watch’s location. They do not have additional parental controls such as adding contacts, adding preset text messages, etc.

Approved contact
  1. Login to the MyGabb app from your smartphone.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s Watch.
  4. Scroll down to the Contacts section, then select Manage. 
  5. Select the blue plus sign in the lower-right corner, then select Create Contact. 
  6. Fill out the information on the Contact form, then select Save.
Import contacts
  1. Login to the MyGabb app from your smartphone.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s Watch.
  4. Scroll down to the Contacts section, then select Manage. 
  5. Select the blue plus sign in the lower-right corner, then select Create Contact. 
  6. Select the three dots in the upper-right corner, then select Import from Contacts.
  7. Allow access to your contacts if prompted to.
  8. Select the contact you want to add to your child’s Watch.
  9. Enter the display name of your contact, then select Save.

Repeat this process to import additional contacts.

Guardian contact
  1. Login to the MyGabb app from your smartphone.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s Watch.
  4. Scroll down to the Contacts section, then select Manage. 
  5. Select the blue plus sign in the lower-right corner, then select Create Guardian Contact. 
  6. Fill out the information on the Contact form, then select Save.

SOS contact & SOS notification

The SOS* function allows your child to discreetly notify their SOS contact of an emergency by pressing the back button for four seconds. Each Watch can have one SOS contact set. You can set up different SOS contacts for each individual Watch on your Gabb Plan.

Here’s how to choose the SOS contact for your child’s Gabb Watch 3:

  1. Login to the MyGabb app from your cell phone.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s Watch.
  4. Select SOS Contact.
  5. Select the contact you want this Watch to send SOS calls & messages to, then select Change.

**The SOS button will call the child’s SOS contact, not emergency services.

Preset text messages

You can create up to 20 preset text messages on your Gabb Watch 3. This allows your child to quickly communicate with their contacts using safe messages.

Follow these steps to add a preset text message to your Gabb Watch 3:

  1. Login to the MyGabb app from your smartphone.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s Watch.
  4. Scroll down to the Text Presets section, then select Manage.
  5. Select New Preset.
  6. Enter the text of the message (up to 25 characters), then select Save Preset.

GPS tracking

Check the Watch’s location by logging in to your MyGabb app. The Map tab will automatically display. Check for your child’s location on this map.

GPS location may be delayed for up to 15 minutes. You can use the Locate button on your child’s device profile in the MyGabb app to manually locate the Gabb Watch.

Directions to device

You can get turn-by-turn directions to your Gabb Watch 3 by following these steps:

  1. Login to the MyGabb app from your smartphone.
  2. Tap your child’s profile icon on the Map tab to highlight their location.
  3. Tap the bubble that pops up with how long ago the location was refreshed, then tap Get Directions. The directions will open in your default navigation app. 

Safe Zones

Want to be notified when your child enters or leaves an area? Set up Safe Zones to deliver these notifications to your MyGabb app.

Here’s how you set up Safe Zones:

  1. Login to the MyGabb app from your smartphone.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to your child’s Watch.
  4. Scroll down to the Safe Zones section, then select Manage.
  5. Select New Safe Zone.
  6. Fill out the New Safe Zone form, then select Save.

Quiet Time

Use Quiet Time to manage sounds & notifications on your child’s Watch. Quiet Time has two features:

Focus Mode

Disables all calls, texts, and apps (except from parent & guardian contacts) 

Silent Mode

Silences sounds on the Gabb Watch 3

Set up Quiet Time
  1. Login to the MyGabb app from your smartphone. 
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select Profile next to the Watch.
  4. Select Add Quiet Time in the Quiet Times section.
  5. Fill out all of the fields in the New Quiet TIme form.
  6. Select Save.

If you want to set up Focus Mode or Silent Mode overnight, you must set up two sets of instructions: One from bedtime to 11:59 p.m., and the other from midnight until wakeup time.

Gabb Go

Gabb Go is a pre-installed app on the Gabb Watch 3 where your child can care for one of 12 virtual pets, including a dog, octopus, axolotl, or unicorn.

You can use Gabb Go to assign up to three tasks to your child. When your child completes a task, they can use the coins they earned to unlock new pet care features. You can also use Gabb Go to set a daily step goal for your child.
