Security features & parental controls

🔒Gabb OS

Gabb’s proprietary operating system provides a safe tech environment for kids. GabbOS comes pre-installed on the Gabb Phone 4 Pro.

🔒Location/Safe Zones

The Gabb Phone 4 Pro is equipped with GPS location tracking & customizable Safe Zones.

🔒Safe texting on Gabb Messenger

Gabb Messenger flags or blocks messages that may be harmful to your child. You’ll get a notification from the Gabb Messenger Parent app when this happens. Download Gabb Messenger Parent on iOS or Android to be notified of flagged messages & more.

🔒Safe video calling

Gabb Messenger allows your child to make safe video calls to other Gabb Messenger users using a Gabb phone. You can make video calls to your child using the Gabb Messenger Parent app.

🔒Gabb App Store

The Gabb Phone 4 offers a select few limited apps available for download from the Gabb App Store.

🔒Clean music streaming

Gabb Music and Gabb Music+ don’t bleep out lyrics—instead, we use our industry-leading tools and proprietary technology to filter out explicit and suggestive songs. Gabb Music is included on Standard plans, and Gabb Music+ is included on Advanced Plans.

🔒Block spam calls with Gabb Guard

Gabb Guard automatically blocks up to 90% of suspicious calls and texts, keeping unknown callers from contacting your child.

🔒Gabb ID & Gabb Cloud

A Gabb ID is a secure account login that you create for your child when you activate your Gabb Phone 4 Pro. This allows your data to be backed up on Gabb Cloud. Gabb Cloud backs up the phone’s data every night, as long as your child is logged into their Gabb ID app.

🔒Text & call logs

You can monitor your child’s text & call usage history from within your Gabb account. These logs allows you to see how often your Gabb Phone 4 is being used.

The Gabb Phone 4 comes with 15 essential apps pre-installed, including:

All of our pre-loaded apps are designed to keep kids safe, and do not have access to the internet or social media.

Limited additional apps

Gabb allows eight additional apps on the Gabb Phone 4:

Here’s how to add one of these apps to your child’s Gabb Phone 4:

  1. Log in to the Gabb App Store from a web browser.
  2. Browse or search for the app(s) you want to download. 
  3. Select Add next to the app’s name.
  4. Select Add App.
  5. Open the GabbID app on the Gabb Phone 4 while connected to Wi-Fi, then select Check for Updates. The app will be added to the Phone.

Coverage

Gabb’s cellular service runs on America’s best network. We only offer service in the United States. Gabb devices will not work internationally, but they can still connect to WiFi.

Activation Troubleshooting

Having trouble activating your new Gabb Phone 4? Here are some issues you may encounter when you activate your Phone.

If your issue isn’t listed below, please refer to this article for additional troubleshooting.

Can’t link Phone to parent’s MyGabb app

Log in to your Gabb account & verify that the Gabb Phone 4 is active. If the Phone is not active, go to this article, and follow those steps.

A new line was set up for the new device instead of transferring an existing Gabb phone number

You can transfer your child’s service from one phone to another digitally from your Gabb account. Removing the SIM card is not required to transfer your service.

Go to gabb.com/activate & follow the steps to transfer your service.

After you’ve transferred the existing phone number to your new Gabb Phone, send an email to billing@gabb.com and ask us to cancel the new line that was set up on accident.

No cell service (cannot receive texts/calls, etc.)

Having issues with cell service, including receiving calls & texts? Try these steps:

  1. Log in to your Gabb account & verify that the Gabb Phone 4 is active.
    1. If the Phone is active, continue to the next step.
    2. If the Phone is not active, go to this article and follow those steps.
  2. Move to an area with better service, such as outside or near a window. 
  3. Turn the phone off, then back on.
