Gabb Phone 4 Settings & Apps

The Gabb Phone 4 comes preloaded with apps and customizable settings. This article is your guide to setting up and using essential apps on your Gabb Phone 4.

Bluetooth

You can connect your Gabb Phone 4 to Bluetooth devices including speakers & headphones. Bluetooth can also be used to link the Gabb Phone 4 with your MyGabb app.

Calendar

The Calendar app allows your child to create events & reminders for events. 

  1. Open the Calendar app on your Gabb Phone 4.
  2. Select the plus sign in the bottom-right corner, then select Event or Task.
  3. Fill out your event or task details, then select Save.

You can also set a reminder or repeating event:

  • Reminders: Set a reminder for your event or task. 
  • Repeating events: Repeat events on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis
Camera & photos

The Gabb Phone 4 has a 13MP front camera. This Phone allows your child to take and share photos.

Take a photo:

Open the Camera app and press the shutter button. The photo will be saved to your Photo Gallery.

View photos:

Open the Photos app. From here your child can view, share, or delete their photos.

Display settings

Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone 4, then select DIsplay. From here you can turn on dark mode, adjust screen zoom, wallpaper, & adaptive brightness. 

Dark mode:

Select Dark theme to set up a dark mode schedule if you don’t want dark mode on all the time. 

Emergency contacts & alerts

Emergency contacts and medical information on the Gabb Phone 4 can be viewed by anyone, even when it is locked. To view this information, hold down the power button (bottom button), select Emergency, then select Emergency Information.

Emergency contact:
  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone. 4
  2. Tap Safety and emergency > Emergency information.
  3. Designate an emergency contact. This contact must already be added to your Gabb Phone.
Medical information:
  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone 4.
  2. Tap Safety and emergency > Emergency information.
  3. Select Add information under your child’s name. 
  4. Select the field you want to update, enter the information, then select OK.
Emergency alerts:
  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone 4.
  2. Tap Safety and emergency > Wireless emergency alerts.
  3. Select the alerts you want your Phone to receive.
Home screen

You can customize your Gabb Phone 4’s home screen by adding apps, folders, and widgets. You can place the app, folder, or widget anywhere on the screen, and they can be rearranged on a grid.

Apps: 

Add app to home screen:

  1. Unlock your Gabb Phone 4.
  2. Swipe up from the bottom, then press, hold, & drag the app to your home screen. 

Move app on home screen:

Press & hold on the app, then drag it where you want it. 

Create an app folder:

  1. Press & hold on one of the apps, then drag it into another app to create your folder.
  2. Enter the name of your folder.
  3. Drag additional apps into the folder. 

Remove app from home screen:

Press & hold on the app, then drag it to the Remove button at the top of the screen. This will remove the app from your home screen, but not from your device. 

Widgets:

Add widget to home screen:

Press & hold on your home screen, tap Widgets, then press, hold, & drag the widget to your home screen.

Remove widget from home screen:

Press & hold on the app, then drag it to the Remove button at the top of the screen.

IMEI number

The IMEI number is a 15-digit unique identification number for your Gabb phone. The IMEI allows you to connect the phone to Gabb’s cellular network. 

You may need to provide us with your IMEI during certain inquiries. To locate your IMEI number:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone 4.
  2. Tap About phone. Your IMEI will be on this screen.
Messaging

The Gabb Phone 4 uses the Gabb Messenger app for text, group, photo, voice, and video messaging. This allows Gabb to monitor, flag, and block texts that may be inappropriate.

Notes

Create a note:

Open the Notes app on your Gabb Phone 4, then select the plus sign in the bottom-right corner. Tap the back button in the top right corner to save the note.

Edit a note:

Open the note you want to edit, then tap into it and make your edits. Your edits will be saved automatically. 

Delete a note:

Press & hold on the note, select the three dots in the upper-right corner, then select Delete.

Phone calls

Make & end a call: 

  1. Open the Phone app on your Gabb Phone 4.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap your contact’s name, then tap the blue phone icon to place the call.
  4. Tap the red phone icon to end the call. 

Answer a call: Tap Answer.

Decline a call: Tap Decline. This will send the call to voicemail.

Voicemail

Dial *86 from your Gabb Phone & follow the prompts to set up or check your voicemail.

Wallpaper
  1. Press & hold on your home screen, then tap Wallpaper & style.
  2. Select the photo that you want to change your wallpaper to.
  3. Select the screens you want to apply the wallpaper to (home screen, lock screen, or both), then tap Set wallpaper at the top of the screen.

WiFi
Why does my Gabb Phone have WiFi?

Gabb devices connect to WiFi to deliver software updates and stream Gabb Music. Gabb devices do not connect to the internet, social media, or unapproved apps in the Google Play Store.

WiFi calling

WiFi calling allows your Gabb Phone 4 to make calls when no mobile network is available. Here’s how to turn it on:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone 4.
  2. Tap Connections.
  3. Enable the toggle next to WiFi Calling.
