Gabb Products & Apple Products
This article answers some common questions about how Gabb products interact with Apple products.
Why are my texts to my child’s device green?
Apple displays text messages in green bubbles when the message is not sent over iMessage (Apple’s proprietary messaging service). Texts sent between two iMessage accounts are blue. Because Gabb devices don’t use iMessage, but instead send texts as SMS messages, your sent messages to a Gabb device will be green – the same way any Apple device texting an Android device would appear.
How can my child leave a group chat on their Gabb Phone?
Android device users, which includes Gabb Phones, can’t leave a group message. The members of the group must start a new thread to remove your child from the group message. You can turn off notifications for the thread, or you can block numbers and delete the thread.
Refer to our Gabb Messenger article to find out how to mute, block, and delete messages as well as parental control options via the Gabb Messenger Parent app.
Why are my text messages going to someone else when I’m sending texts to my child’s phone number?
If your Gabb phone number was associated with an iMessage account at some point in the past, it’s possible that text messages to your Gabb number are still going the previous phone number owner’s iMessage account. If you’re experiencing this problem, you can deregister the phone number from iMessage here.
