Gabb Phone Pro Apps & Settings

Gabb Phone Pro apps & settings

The Gabb Phone 4 Pro and Gabb Phone 3 Pro come preloaded with many apps and customizable settings. This article is your guide to setting up and using essential apps on your Gabb Phone 4 Pro and Gabb Phone 3 Peo.

Bluetooth 🎧

You can connect your Gabb Phone to Bluetooth devices including speakers and headphones. Bluetooth can also be used to pair your Gabb Phone with your MyGabb app.

Calendar 🗓️

The Calendar app allows your child to create events and reminders for events.

  1. Open the Calendar app 📅 on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap the plus sign ➕ in the bottom-right corner.

  3. Fill out your event details, then tap Save. ✅

Reminders

Use the Reminder setting to set a reminder:

  • At time of event

  • 10 minutes before (default)

  • 1 hour before

  • 1 day before

Repeating events

Use the Repeat setting 🔄 to repeat events on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.

Camera & photos 📸

Take a photo

Open the Camera app and tap the shutter button. The photo will be saved to the Gallery.

Edit a photo

Apply filters, crop, or rotate a photo by opening it in the Gallery app and selecting Edit. Select Save Copy to save your edited photo.

​This will not save over or delete the original photo.

Camera settings

Open the Camera app, then select the gear icon ⚙️ in the upper-left corner. From here you can customize how the camera appears and functions.

Display settings ⚙️

To adjust display settings, pen the Settings app on your Gabb Phone, then tap Display. From here you can turn on dark mode, adjust screen zoom, screen timeout, customize the navigation bar, and more.

🌃 Dark mode:

  • Tap the Dark option at the top of the Display page in the Settings app. If you don't want dark mode on all the time

  • Tap Dark mode settings to set up a schedule.

Emergency alerts 🚨

Follow these steps to set up emergency alerts:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap Safety and emergency. From here you can set up emergency alerts, emergency contacts, wireless emergency alerts, medical information, and more.

Home screen - apps & widgets 📱

You can customize your Gabb Phone by adding apps, folders, and widgets to your home screen. You can place the app, folder, or widget anywhere on the screen, and they can be rearranged on a grid.

Apps

Add app to home screen

  1. Unlock your Gabb Phone, then swipe up from the bottom.

  2. Press and hold on the app you want to add, then tap Add to Home.

Move app on home screen

Press and hold on an app on the home screen, then drag it where you want it.

Create an app folder

  1. Press and hold on one of the apps, then drag it into another app to create your folder.

  2. Enter the name of your folder.

  3. Drag additional apps into the folder to add them.

Remove app from home screen

Press and hold on the app, then select Remove.

This will remove the app from your home screen, but not from your device.

Widgets

Add widget to home screen

  1. Press and hold on your home screen, then tap Widgets.

  2. Tap the widget you want to add, then tap Add.

Create widget stack

  1. Press and hold on a widget on your home screen, then tap Create Stack.

  2. Tap the new widget you want to add, then tap Add.

  3. Repeat these steps to add additional widgets to your stack.

Edit widget stack

  1. Press and hold on the widget on your home screen, then tap Edit Stack.

  2. Swipe to the widget you want to remove, then tap the red minus sign to remove it from the stack.

Press and hold on the widget, then tap Remove.

IMEI number 🛠️

The IMEI number is a 15-digit unique identification number for your Gabb Phone. The IMEI allows you to connect the phone to Gabb’s cellular network. The IMEI is used to transfer service and activate your phone, and it syncs your phone with the Gabb network.

You may need to provide us with your IMEI during certain inquiries. To locate your IMEI number:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap About Phone. Your IMEI will be on this screen.

👉 You can also find the IMEI on the back of the box your Gabb Phone came in.

Keyboard settings ⌨️

Follow these steps to update your keyboard settings:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Scroll down, then tap General management.

  3. Tap Samsung keyboard settings. From here you can customize your keyboard.

Messaging 💬

The Gabb Phone 4 Pro and Gabb Phone 3 Pro both use the Gabb Messenger app for text, group, photo, voice, and video messaging. This allows Gabb to monitor, flag, and block texts that may be inappropriate.

Notes 📝

Create a note

  1. Open the Notes app on your Gabb Phone Pro.

  2. Tap the pencil icon ✏️ in the bottom-right corner.

Edit a note

Open the note you want to edit, then tap into it and make edits. Your edits will be saved automatically.

Delete a note

  1. Press and hold on the note

  2. Tap Delete

  3. Tap Move to Trash.

Notes features:

  • Text input, with ability to change font, size, and color

  • Drawing tools: Pen, highlighter, eraser

  • Take notes in your own handwriting

  • Voice recording

  • Page templates: Add lines, checkboxes, and grids to your note pages

  • Attach images or PDFs to notes

Phone calls ☎️

Make & end a call

To make and end a phone call:

  1. Open the Phone app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap Contacts.

  3. Tap on your contact’s name, then select the blue phone icon to place the call.

  4. Tap the red phone icon to end the call.

Answer/decline a call

Answer a call

Select/slide the green phone icon when your phone rings.

Decline a call

Select/slide the red phone icon when your phone rings. This will send the call to voicemail.

Turn on WiFi calling

To turn on WiFi calling:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap Connections.

  3. Select the radio button next to WiFi Calling. 🛜

Reset system & app settings 🔧

System settings

If you need to reset your system settings, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Scroll down, then tap General management.

  3. Tap Reset.

  4. Select the reset option you want.

  5. Tap Reset Settings to reset the selected settings back to default.

App settings

You can reset app settings for an app on your Gabb Phone. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Scroll down, then tap Apps.

  3. Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner, then tap Reset app preferences.

  4. Tap Reset.

SIM card number (ICCID number) 🗂️

What is a SIM card?

The SIM card number, also referred to an ICCID number, is a unique identification number for your Gabb service plan. The SIM number allows us to validate that your phone can connect to Gabb’s cellular network. Your SIM card also houses your phone number.

You may need to provide us with your SIM/ICCID number. Follow these steps to find it:

1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone.
2. Tap About Phone > Status information.
4. Tap SIM card status. Your SIM/ICCID number is in the ICCID field.

Transfer your service

You can transfer your child’s phone number from one Gabb Phone to another online:

  1. Go to our activation portal.

  2. Follow the prompts to transfer your phone number.

‼️ Removing the SIM card is neither required nor recommended on Gabb phones to transfer the phone number.

Voicemail 📣

Dial *86 from your Gabb Phone and follow the prompts to set up or check your voicemail.

Wallpaper 🌆

We make it easy to customize your Gabb Phone Pro. To change your wallpaper:

  1. Press and hold on your home screen, then tap Wallpaper and style.

  2. Tap Change wallpapers.

  3. Select the photo you want to change your wallpaper to.

  4. Select the screens you want to apply the wallpaper to, then tap Next.

  5. Tap Done.

WiFi 🛜

Gabb devices connect to WiFi to deliver software updates and stream Gabb Music. Gabb devices do not connect to the internet, social media, or unapproved apps in the Google Play Store.

WiFi calling

WiFi calling allows your Gabb Phone to make calls when no mobile network is available. Here's how to turn it on:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Gabb Phone Pro.

  2. Tap Connections.

  3. Enable the toggle next to WiFi Calling. 🛜
